Application Fields of PP Materials

Polypropylene (PP) is widely used due to its characteristics of light weight, heat resistance, corrosion resistance and easy processing, mainly covering the following fields:​

Daily Consumption and Home Use: Tableware (fresh-keeping boxes, microwave oven meal boxes), daily necessities (clothes hangers, trash cans), cosmetic packaging, toys and stationery, etc., taking advantage of its non-toxic, good toughness and low cost.​

Packaging Industry: Food packaging films, stretch wrapping films, beverage bottles and caps, PP woven bags (for grain, building materials), inner layers of paper-plastic composite packaging, etc., relying on its sealing, strength and weather resistance.​

Automotive Industry: Interior parts (instrument panels, door panels), exterior parts (bumpers, rearview mirror housings), functional components (battery casings, oil pipes), which are widely used because of their light weight, impact resistance and low cost.​

Medical and Health: Disposable medical supplies (syringes, infusion sets, surgical trays), medical equipment casings, medicine packaging bottles, etc., which meet the requirements of non-toxicity, easy sterilization and strong stability.​

Industry and Engineering: Chemical pipelines, valves, geomembranes (anti-seepage), construction pipes, electrical casings and cable insulation layers, benefiting from their chemical corrosion resistance, insulation and other properties.​

Agricultural Field: Mulch films, shed films (heat preservation and light transmission), irrigation pipes, fertilizer packaging bags, etc., which can adapt to the weather resistance requirements in the field.​

With the development of modification technology, the application of PP materials in high-end fields such as new energy vehicles and biomedical will be further expanded.
